Very
desirable, and hard to find 1988 Chevy 1 ton, crewcab non-dually 4x4.
This heavy duty 4x4 is 100% RUSTFREE from California. It features
most of it's original black paint and has a pretty straight body for it's age.
The only real dent is on the front of the bed on the passengers side.
It hasn't been a beat to death work truck. These were the last of
the rugged, straight axle true heavy duty Chevy 4x4's. They
feature the solid Dana 60 front axle, the bullet proof New Process 205
gear driven transfer case, and rock solid 14 bolt rear axle.
Other options include: a new GM crate Fuel Injected 454, with just
25k miles, a nice shifting HD TH400 automatic, conservative 3.73 gears,
limited slip rear differential, 3+3 seating, A/C, PW, PDL, Tilt, Cruise,
Power Steering, Power Disc Brakes, Dual Fuel Tanks, Tow Package, CD
sound system, etc. The interior is clean, we installed a new
headliner.
The engine
has an Edelbrock TBI intake with a throttle body spacer, and an
aftermarket chip in the computer. It comes with the stock chip
also. The engine is smooth and strong.
This truck
also has the rare 8.25" wide factory GM wheels on it with nice
33x12.5x16.5 BFG's.
This truck
has a 6" rancho suspension lift, with all the proper components to make
it drive perfect. These trucks need some lift to make them look
right. The
brakes, suspension, and exhaust are all sound. It has a lot of new
parts including a radiator and steering gear box. These are my
most requested trucks. I tell everyone first come first served.
So don't drag you feet if you want it.
The 4x4 system works excellent and it goes in and out smooth. If
you have been watching my site for one of these, don't miss it.
The only
negative about this truck is that it has a Salvage title. I have
had a number of California trucks come in this way. Other than the
dent in the front of the bed there is no other body damage or any signs
of frame damage, so most likely, a previous owner let the registration
laps. In California they pile on huge fines and penalties for
lapsed registration. I have seen the late fees as high as two or
three grand. There is a loophole that if you deem the vehicle as Salvage
you can re-register it and the fees and penalties drop off. So if
the person ever wants to drive the vehicle again they either pay the
fees or "Salvage" the vehicle. I have had several trucks that
people have done this on. None the less this is a nice no excuses
crew cab, that I wouldn't afraid to put a 10,000# trailer behind it and
head cross country.
