Very hard to find 1971 Ford F250 factory "Highboy"
4x4. It is rustfree from the west coast. Finding one of these
that is truly rustfree is a real find. This Highboy was one family
owned. The grandfather of the guy I got it from bought in new.
It has a nice running 390 with an Edelbrock 4bbl. It has a nice
shifting 4 speed with a smooth clutch, and 4:10 axles.
This truck drives real nice.
It has power steering and power brakes. The suspension is tight and
the exhaust sounds nice. The 4x4 system works as well.
The interior is clean. It
has an old school 8 track radio that still works. All the gauges work, and the heat and defrost work.
The blinkers work, as do all the outside lights including the reverse
lights. The wipers also work.
This is
one of the most solid first gen. Highboys I have ever had.
As I said they are very tough
to find let alone this solid. I have only had a few 67 -
72 F250 4x4's.
They are very sought after and I
get a lot of calls for them, but I just can't find decent ones very often.
This one has it's battle scares, but she wares them well. It runs and
drives great.
