This is a
99% RUSTFREE 1978 F250 3/4ton 4x4, with
the premium "Ranger XLT" trim package, and heavy duty "Camper Special"
package. The Ranger XLT package gave you the pretty stuff, and Camper
Special package gave you the heavy duty stuff, as well as extra coolers, and a rear anti-sway bar. This 4x4 was
built in California and has spent it's entire life out west. This
truck features a strong smooth 400 engine that was rebuilt several years
back and a nice shifting 4 speed with a smooth clutch. It also PS, PDB,
dual tanks, a nice sounding CD radio, and a class III style receiver
hitch. This
4x4 has a 4" lift with 33" tires giving it the perfect look. We pulled
the old tattered carpet. The floors ore totally solid, with just some
surface rust on the passengers side. I call it 99% rustfree
because it has a spot on the rear of each lower bedside where two pieced of
factory metal are spot welded and debris gets trapped and forms rust.
I have seen this quite often on these old Fords even from out west. It
also has a spot in the pass cab corner. I have included close-up pics
of those three areas. Other than that the truck is rustfree and still
features most of it's original paint. The suspension is tight.
The dual exhaust needs new tailpipes, but sounds good. The 4x4 system
works fine as well.
The two tone green is a nice looking popular color. This truck is
priced a little cheaper due to not being 100% rustfree, but it has a lot
other going for it. It has a great look and stance, and is a great
driver.
All these old 4x4's are
getting tougher for me to find. I'm just not finding them in good
shape like I used to. If your wanting one, I wouldn't keep waiting.
Enjoy the pics.
