This is a nice looking, running, and
driving 1979 Ford short bed 4x4, with only 102k miles. I wish I could
say this one was 100% rustfree, but I can't. It's from
Washington state, and normally the trucks I get from there are rustfree.
The outer body is rustfree, floors and bed floor have some small holes.
Also, the seems in different places have rust. I have attached pics.
None-the-less the truck is solid. Is has a good running 351,
and nice shifting C6 automatic. These were the last of the true heavy
duty Ford trucks. They got the high pinion Dana 44 front axle, and the
bullet proof gear to gear 205 transfer case. It also has conservative 3.50 : 1
gears, so you can actually drive it.
The interior is
clean, the dash pad isn't cracked, and the seat sits nice.
These short beds are getting very tough
for me to find. I get far more requests than I can get trucks to meet
them.
I have priced this truck $2500
cheaper than if it was rustfree. For the right buyer it's a bargain.
This is
an nice short bed 4x4, but just not up to my 99 - 100% standards.
