Very Rare and
desirable, 1979 F350 factory 1 ton 4x4.
I have been told that Ford only
produced 900 F350 4x4 regular cabs in 1979.
This is the only the third 1979 F350 regular cab I have ever had the chance to purchase.
1979 was the first and only year of this body style that one could purchase
an F350 4x4 in a regular cab. The F350's all got the DANA 60 front
axel, the big disc brakes, and the NP205 transfer case. This 4x4 runs and drives nice,
it has a rebuilt 460, with an Edlebrock Carb and intake combo. The
clutch is smooth and the 4 speed shifts nice. The 4x4 system works
perfect, and it has new Warn front hubs. Other factory options
include: Power Steering, Power disc brakes, & Dual Tanks, etc. The paint is
presentable but not new or perfect. It has some scrapes, chips, and
scratches. The body is 99% rustfree, and the truck is from Washington
state. It has nice 33x12.5x16 tires on nice chrome wheels. The
interior is clean, and hasn't been cut on. It has an inexpensive
slip on seat cover, and some thin carpet over the factory rubber mat.
I call this truck 99% rustfree, because it has some rust on the inside door
corners, a spot on the bottom rear of the pass side bed, and a spot starting
on the drivers floor. These are common areas for rust even on west
coast Ford trucks. I have included close ups of all the mentioned
areas. The bottom line, these are ultra rare and extremely desirable
trucks. If you have been watching my site and waiting an F350 4x4, don't miss this one. I may never get another.
