This is a hard to find, and
desirable 1979 GMC 1 ton regular cab dually 4x4. This is a
top-of-the-line "Sierra Grande" model. This truck also
has the heavy duty "Camper Special" package. This is a 99.5% rustfree west coast 4x4. It
is very straight, and still features it's original paint. Even the
inside of the bed and upper bed rails are pretty straight for its age.
The hood does have a crease on the drivers side from the hood hinges
getting stiff due to lack of lubrication. This was never a work trucks. I call it 99.5% rustfree because it
has one spot of rust on top of the drivers rocker panel, and some on the
bottom front of the passengers side front fender from the battery.
Both spots are common even on western GM 4x4's of this vintage. It
has had two owners, and only has 65,421 actual miles. It
features a smooth strong 400 small block, and a nice shifting TH400
automatic. It also has dual fuel tanks.. It has the correct Dana 60 front
axle. We replaced the mater cylinder. The interior is
original and clean for it's age, the original carpet had already been
removed before I got the truck. It has a nice sounding AM/FM
radio. The tires hold air, but are old and dry. Overall this
a straight original
rare heavy duty 4x4
survivor. |
