This is a hard to find, and
desirable 1987 GMC High Sierra Longbed 2wd. What makes the 87's so
rare, and desirable is the fact that it is the only year that GM offered
fuel injection in this classics body style pickup. You get all the
convenience of a newer fuel injected truck, in the classic older body.
This one is a 1 owner survivor, that is 100% rustfree from California, and
still feature its original
paint on a straight body.
It features a strong smooth fuel
injected 350, and a nice shifting overdrive automatic. It also
has: Cold A/C, PS, PDB, Cruise, duel fuel tanks, factory AM/FM, Limited
slip "Posi" rear axle with 3.42 rear axle, etc. Finally, it has a
new tires on the original 8" rally wheels. The interior is also
clean and original. The bed is very straight inside. The paint and
body has some minor flows, but has an awesome patina.
The best thing about this truck is
the stance. Short beds like this have been dried up for years.
Long beds have gotten real popular of late, and actually have a good
look lowered down. It was professionally lowered with all Bell
Tech components including Shocks all around. 3" in the front with
spindles, and 4" in the rear with shackles. By doing it this way,
it retains it's factory ride quality. It also has nice sounding
FlowMaster exhaust.
I did a full photo shoot on this
truck before we lowered it, and then retook some. So some of the
pics might show the stock wheels, and exhaust.
Most everybody who is into square body GM's wants an 87.
This is an excellent strong
running and driving truck. The suspension is
tight. The brakes stop nice. This truck needs nothing. I
would hop in and drive this truck anywhere. I don't have to make
any excuses for it.
